Chaotic / Toxic Culture

Salary & Benefits are pretty awesome. Union protections depending on which job you have. Fantastic peers that work full-time at PG&E (contractors, not so much). LGBTQIA+ affirming - check out rating on the Equality Index.
Cons
Never-ending reorganization of the company. Management will constantly break union rules especially regarding overtime, job description, and not paying STIP / greatly reducing STIP arbitrarily. Supervisors / Managers concentrate on quality metrics while piling on additional responsibilities. Quantity does not equal quality. Work / Life Balance is non-existent. Preferential treatment of Project Managers over Project Controls Analysts. This includes "blaming" Analysts for shortcomings in a Project Manager's performance. "Yes" people in management - especially Supervisors. Inadequate or complete lack of training when they roll out new processes, procedures, policies, and software. Departments work in "silos" - the Contracts dept will roll out a new requirement or software without consulting the departments that have to actually follow the requirement / use the software. Same with IT & Engineering. Basically, the "support" departments do not consult with all stakeholders. The way the company uses SAP and especially P6 is ridiculous. "Hustle" culture in play here although the company is constantly talking about "work/life balance." Overall, chaotic / toxic work culture.

Great pay, *usually* very good overtime opportunities, great opportunity for advancement, job security, decent benefits.
Cons
Public sentiment of company, upper management often uninformed but make vast changes regardless.
