I worked at Pacific Sunwear full-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

Casual dress code, never get bored

Cons

Too much workload for hours given, very unstable upper management, no support from HR

Advice to Management

Upper management would be more informed if they didn't expect a dog and pony show each time they visit. Promotion from within would give managers a deeper desire to stick around and continuity would help long term success. Sometimes expectations are out of touch with reality. Payroll and LP will always be a concern when you run on 1 person coverage for 1/3 of your business hours. Invest in conversion counters so that your data would be more relevant, just because you have more transactions does not mean you had more traffic, it could have to do with better customer interactions.

I worked at Pacific Sunwear full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

A diamond in the rough. Pacsun hires some of the best people out there. I was able to reach out to any of my peers in a time of need and get full support. Also we received a great discount. The company is still up and coming within their new demographic.

    Cons

Payroll. Or lack there of. The amount of workload expected, on top of having a customer-first focus, was literally impossible, no matter who you were. You constantly felt like you were overwhelmed and there was no way out.

    Advice to Management

Invest in your people. Don't pull from payroll or salary, because talent is number one with running a successful store.

I worked at Pacific Sunwear full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The pay for my position, no uniform or dress code, ability to work with an extremely diverse group of people from young (16 year olds) to older (70 year olds).

    Cons

STRESS, STRESS, STRESS!! The amount of tasking that is scheduled every day, along with the "extra/pushed backed" tasks and projects are stupid!! Don't expect to have a life outside of work, because you are literally there every day, all day/night!! This company has unrealistic goals and expectations and demands placed on the stores all you want to do is die!!

    Advice to Management

Grow some balls!! Learn to say NO!!! Stop spending all this unnecessary money on these retarded look books (no one looks at them), coupons w/free money on it, stop sending some much marketing!! NO ONE LOOKS AT THE SIGNS ANYWAYS!!
