Company Has Gone Downhill

The benefits package is fantastic, they added pet insurance alongside the existing medical/dental/vision. You can definitely build strong retail connections and make friends while working here. Product has improved over the past few years as well.
Cons
The first problem is upper management. From a district level up, there is a large disconnect between managers and their stores. Hard work goes entirely unrecognized, the amount of tasking and labor expected is overwhelming in comparison to the total allowable hours. 6/7 days a week I have to open the store by myself until coverage comes in around noon, which is a large safety issue in itself. Wage disparity between stores is a large issue going on as well. Some store associates make more than my part time ASM. Raises get denied constantly, and base pay for management has gone down since I started. There's no respect for the people in the stores, whilst upper management works from home and does store visits quarterly, if at all. HR works for the company, not the people. Multiple HR cases I know of from multiple other store managers have gone ignored or have shown no results whatsoever. 9/10 they will direct you to speak to your DM. Upper management selection is cliquey. They pass over good candidates to choose someone way less qualified to take a leadership role. Most decent applicants for assistant manager positions are shut down by upper management based off a single phone call.

good discount, coworkers ( not the store manager or higher ups)
Cons
Management sucks, DM’s expect way too much with the amount of hours they provide & there are so many tasks that stop you from meeting your forecast. can be up to 11+ tasks per day while still expecting you to make 5,000 dollars, push out shipment, look/pack/ and send out online orders, run the floor, customer service, and be on the look out for theft. for mediocre pay.
