"A company consumed entirely with increasing shareholder and upper management wealth."

    Pros

I worked at Kennywood Amusement Park in Pittsburgh, and the best part of the job for me was meeting hundreds of people a day. Also, the lower management is excellent.

    Cons

The company has little regard for entry level employees, and will quickly terminate an employee if any potential litigation issues arise.
As the park was a seasonal operation, overtime wages were not permitted.

    Pros

    -flexible schedules for seasonal employees
-free entrance into the park on your days off
    -discounted meals
    -laid back environment
-the majority of the seasonal employees get along really well.
-ability to transfer to different departments
-great place to get some experience in the workforce if you are young

    Cons

-advancement is a joke. You can only make it to seasonal employee since the park only employs 7 full time managers.
-favortism runs rampant here. I personally saw a qualified and experienced employee be passed up for a management position simply because another manager wanted a friend to have the job
-the managers really do not have any respect for seasonal employees. While I was there, I saw more than one of the managers yell and use foul language toward an employee.
-only the employee can enter the park. Family members must pay full price to enter.

    Advice to Management

This place seems to be falling apart at the seams. Literally. I overheard one of the Marketing people comment that there was plaster falling from the ceiling a few feet from her desk, but no budget to fix anything. Apparently there was also a severe leak in the roof during the spring/winter. There are extension cords running all over the place because outlets are burned out. I believe that whoever "corporate" is, they seriously need to look at the buildings and start fixing things for the safety of their employees.
