It can be difficult working with the management on what to make for that day. Takes some getting used to.

I worked at Panera Bread part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

It was easy to get hired. They give a discount on lunch and a free loaf of bread each week.

    Cons

The pay is poor. The managers and shift supervisors don't communicate with each other so the staff is constantly getting contradictory information. They track sales per work hour all day so if the sales are low they ask staff members to leave early or take a lunch break even if they have just arrived. I was laid off with zero warning. I had done nothing wrong and the manager acknowledged that fact. I just ran into a former Panera manager working at another business and he said that they are laying off staff and managers all over this district.

    Advice to Management

Stop blaming every slump in sales on your employees.
