I have been working at Panera Bread full-time (Less than a year)

Pros

- Decent Vacation/ Benefits
- Starting pay is decent. Im talking about fdf not the store itself I dont work in the stores.
- Break times are adequate
- They address issues with equipment very well if you are a operator.

Cons

Pace is VERY hectic and takes some adjustment to adapt to.
Hours can be limited from week to week.
You will work most holidays.
There can be a lot of stress and negativity from time to time.

Advice to Management

I would say this for everyone not just management, but taking classes on stress management would be helpful for everyone and should probably be brought up more in meetings. Focus more on the personal aspects to help your employees feel more valued.

I have been working at Panera Bread part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Base Pay more than minimum wage
    65% Discount
SO many regular customers, nice to form those bonds
    Close relationships to coworkers
    Great, compassionate and philanthropic company
Lots of Hours for deserving workers
SUPER SUPER SUPER flexible with scheduling
    Friendly, fun managers and shifts
Dining room/running is most enjoyable and occasionally you may get tips!
Bakery Closers get to take home some leftover bakery items
Variety of ages and experience when it comes to associates
They understand that you have school and other priorities (I am a theatre major and they let me take off a lot even for auditions and rehearsals)

    Cons

    LUNCH RUSH
GM can be moody, have to get on their good side
Very stingy with promotions and raises
Our GM is quick to criticize, it takes A LOT to get a compliment even when you bust your butt!
Right off the highway, super busy lunch and dinner
Bakery workers have to deal with annoying customers the most and are the first to be blamed
Raises and promotions way too sparse for hardworking employees
If you let them THEY WILL make you stay at least an hour after every shift you have is over
Some associates are just plain lazy and lie and make excuses, don't stock, don't do anything and somehow get away with it
Some customers are just RUDE RUDE RUDE and annoying

    Advice to Management

Please be honest in consideration of who deserves the hours and who doesn't
When you see an issue, don't confront an employee when they are serving a customer, it is shameless and embarrassing. Pull them aside later.
Let the managers and shifts do their own thing, they are capable and awesome people!
Promote or AT THE VERY LEAST praise and encourage those workers who go above and beyond. We want to know that we're doing well.
Calm down! We all get stressed 11-3, don't make it worse by yelling at us about little things. We are trying to do our best to serve the customer.
