I have been working at Panera Bread full-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

Growing company.
Has strong values.
Gives back to the community by donating leftover product.
Relaxing atmosphere for customers.
Friendly regulars.

Cons

Long work weeks. Hard to make a balance of personal/professional life.
Poor compensation for 60+ hr work weeks.
Poor communication.
Lack of consistency.

Advice to Management

Don't make false promises to the staff that bleeds for your stores if you have no intention of promoting them.
Create realistic goals for ticket times and allow adequate hour/week compensation for training new staff.
Rethink the flow in some of the locations. There are a lot of bottle necks in several locations' floor plans.
Put less stress on Promoter Score. Allow it to be a true interpretation of customer's feelings rather than a rant session for a slight hiccup in customer service. This only leads to cheating in a flawed system.
Also, security cameras in the walk ins and freezers would help account for food loss...holds people accountable for the "honesty and integrity" piece.

I have been working at Panera Bread part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The managers were very flexible about giving me hours that worked for me. The other people that worked with me were also great. The parties that we had six times a year were also great because we all got to bond

    Cons

I had no problems with the company.

    Advice to Management

have the team do some more fun things at the bread bashes to liven things up.

I have been working at Panera Bread full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    It's fun.
If you're a good/hard worker, there are many opportunities to move up.

    Cons

The pay is WAY too low for all of the hard work I and my co-workers do.
"Full-time" is 25 or less hours a week at my store. I'm starting school in the fall, and would like to be working 40 hours a week to save up. I've mentioned this numerous times to the manager in charge of schedules, and I'm still only scheduled around 25 hours a week.
