I worked at Panera Bread full-time (More than a year)

Pros

Discount on good food. Easy to move up (from associate to associate trainer to supervisor, etc.). Best training program I've had anywhere.

Cons

My specific store (Little Rock, AR) made me feel unappreciated. I worked too hard to cover for the slackers that I worked with. Waking up at 4am wasn't fun either.

Advice to Management

MAKE TEAMWORK HAPPEN.

I have been working at Panera Bread full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

One of the better benefit packages for an hourly employee in the food industry. As a regular associate you can accumulate PTO after one year of service. After my second year I had an entire week built up. Health insurance and other benefits are offered as well. In general, individuals interested in getting into restaurant management have a realistic shot at doing so at Panera.

    Cons

The JV incentive structure for general managers does not measure the important aspects of a restaurant. Success is based on scores that do not adequately assess the actual state of a restaurant, and it is easy for managers to hide the 'actual' operational state of their restaurant.

    Advice to Management

Pay closer attention to the quality of employees that are hired and their overall commitment and dedication to the restaurant's overall goals when reviewing management.

Management disregarded employees ask off requests and continued to schedule shifts during school hours
