I worked at Panera Bread part-time (Less than a year)

Pros

They are very easy to work with. Great environment. Managers are great. Will work around your schedule. Usually gives you as many hours as you want.

Cons

Can be very exhausting. Long hours. You will sometimes have to deal with rude and hateful costumers. Can sometimes have very early hours.

I worked at Panera Bread full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Panera offers a top of the line product to it's retail clientele. There are many new stores being added to the concept due to it's continued growth in the quick casual market, providing new opportunities for growth.

    Cons

The hours are early and long. This is a hands on job at all levels and requires a high level of stamina and dedication. Work life balance is hard to achieve due to lower caliber of hiring of lower level management. Product line has started recently to change for the standard that loyal guests have come to expect from this company.

    Advice to Management

I would encourage upper management to walk the talk. Put yourselves in the shoes of the operators rather than simply holding them accountable to lofty ideas that are difficult to achieve. Also only make promises you have intentions of following through on. Dandling a carrot is effective motivational technique so long as eventually the carrot is able to be reached.

I have been working at Panera Bread full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    Great culture. Reasonable salary.

    Cons

Frequent change over several years. Change is necessary, but rate of change is a bit over the top.

    Advice to Management

Clarify and validate that goals and expectations are actually aligned from top to bottom. There is a gap between what the COO and mum's are saying.
