Pros

Parallels technology is incredible competitive. OS virtualization provides lots of benefits and if the company made an attempt to really market it, VMware would be nervous.

Cons

Senior management had NO communication down at all.
At one time, this company owed me 12 weeks of salary and I never received an explanation why this happened.
Russian founders brought their culture to the US. They frequently lay off and rehire if anyone does any thinking or questioning about strategy. They pit people against each other and just expect you to work and be grateful for a job.

Advice to Management

Grow up. Don't spend the profits on your "toys." Spend it on growing the business and learn MBWA. (that's wandering around not wandering away). Understand that when the economy gets better, you will experience the workforce voting with their feet.
Serguei makes very irrational decisions based on emotion and then expects everyone to do whatever it takes to match his "world view"

I have been working at Parallels full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    1) A well-known brand
    2) A lot of skilled professionals (but it depends on the department)
    3) An OK work/life balance (but it's totally up to you!)
    4) If you're a novice, Parallels is a good opportunity to see how serious IT companies do their business with a decent amount of bureaucracy and learn a lot about processes

    Cons

    1) A lot of managers can't stand if you dispute their decisions, even if they are obviously wrong
    2) Salary depends a lot on your relationships with your manager - you might get extra bonuses or you might permanently stay underpaid
    3) Coworkers mostly are nice people, but if you are an introvert it will be hard for you to do your jobs as a lot of tasks require social communication
    4) Company is very caution about decisions and stick to outdated technologies and processes - you won't learn a lot of new technologies here
    5) Considering a large amount of offices, it's almost impossible to get a relocation
    6) Company is not multicultural, as all offices are isolated from each other

    Advice to Management

Don't promise to your employees things that you can't deliver
