Pros

Offered great work/life balance
Honest - They did what they said they would do
Supports continuing education
Good Salary
Everyone is eligible for bonus if bonus criteria is met

Cons

They didn't offer a pension plan
At the time I was there, they were going through a management transition and the new management, this is usually always a difficult time

Advice to Management

Continue to build upon employee morale and look to grow employees internally and prepare them for possible positions to be promoted into.

    Positive Outlook

I worked at Paramount Petroleum full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

People are not treated as a number. Management will bend over backward to help solve a problem.
Very close knit company everyone has a say.

    Cons

Parent company tried to expand at a bad time. Lots of unseen problems in purchase of Bakersfield refinery. Complacency is a major problem.

    Advice to Management

Listen to both sides of the story. Do more research before starting new projects. Work with an employee's strength not his weakness.
