    Disapproves of CEO

I have been working at Parker Hannifin full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Decent pay and benefits for the midwest.
I guess all the corporate programs do a good job of convincing Wall Street to put their money in Parker stock. It's been doing well.

    Cons

-The manufacturing plants that make the $$ are generally understaffed and the employees overworked.
-There's allot of big company "programs" that get imposed on the manufacturing plant by corporate that often don't make sense for the environment and put allot of burden on understaffed locations.
-Too many "chiefs" (i.e. managers, directors etc.) that sit around and think of "programs" and not enough "Indians" to do their bidding.
-Parker is paranoid about not having enough managers in the future so every new hire needs to express the desire to be the next top lever VP or CEO. As such many of the new hires are not interested in furthering their chosen profession (i.e. engineering). They just want to get involved in the next high-profile program and do the minimum necessary to get their next profession.
-If you do your job well you'll likely get pigeon-holed in the job you were hired into and that's it.
-If you're interested in getting promoted, doing your job well is not necessary. What you need to do is be the top Brown-Noser!

    Advice to Management

Too many "corporate" and "staff" managers etc. - look at the manufacturing plants like they're there to support and please them. WE make the money to pay your overinflated salaries! Start listing to the people who actually product a product to SELL!
