I worked at Parsons Corporation full-time (More than 5 years)

Pros

The employee stock plan is really good, IMHO. There are some very good people working there at all levels (management and below). They have a good blend of paying attention to you and leaving you alone so that you are supported without feeling smothered.

Cons

There is an inflated sense of their contribution to the client which can lead to problems with these clients. This is personal, but much of the work is with clients who are fairly adept at mismanaging either taxpayer or customer (and many of these are monopolies) money. Work in Iraq, Mideast etc. etc.

Advice to Management

Stop focusing on what you can get from the client, focus on what you can do for the client. And find some better clients.

I have been working at Parsons Corporation full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

It's a job with healthcare benefits available.

    Cons

Watch out for yourself because 99% of your "team" will not. You must fend for yourself in this company.

The only people who get any advancement are the young professionals Example: I makes less than $6/hour more now than when I started with this company 10 years ago

If you're not fresh out of college there are few opportunities, no real training, and no dollars for additional training. The concept of a real team is non-existent.

    Advice to Management

Cut 30% of your management. Streamline systems across the company. Follow through on accountability requirements. Let managers manage instead of doing the same job their staff performs. Don't go public (as you say you plan to do by 2015). Turn "Talent Mangement" back into Human Resources.
