I worked at Parsons Corporation full-time (More than 8 years)

Pros

At Parsons, for a mid-level engineer or higher, if you are willing to work long hours and travel when required you will be awarded with challenging work and a great resume. The ESOP gives shares to all US employees, 15% of your salary or more, tax deferred.

Cons

People are squeezed hard, and you will find that in the US coastal offices in particular, the staff is so lean you won't get the people with the skills needed to get your work done. This is one place where management works harder than the staff, and most are frustrated and burned out. All this is in the name of the ESOP and share price, which everyone shares the benefit. Problem is, if you end up divorced, your spouse gets half the ESOP. I put on 20 pounds from all the business travel. Something to remember.

Advice to Management

Please keep up the hard work, and make the share price grow!

I have been working at Parsons Corporation full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Large company with many amazing opportunities to work on historic landmark projects. Currently placing a lot of emphasis on early career professionals. If you are young and can get into the ECP program you will do well at Parsons. Lost of great people working there.

    Cons

Budget is slashed every year and teams are asked to do more with less. After 10+ years some of our best brains were poached by other companies offering higher salaries and less stress. When the team started to fall behind, Parsons started switching managers instead of replacing some of the talent that was lost. Also: five year refresh cycle on laptops is way too long. Upper management has challenged all employees to be innovative but middle management often punishes employees who attempt to innovate for being less dedicated to the team.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees and understand when you've reached the limits of efficiency.
