I worked at Partners HealthCare full-time (More than a year)

Pros

So much training that allows for constant growth.

Cons

HR and management are on the ins with each other, so basically if you have any questions about procedures then you are better off finding the answer yourself and not making any noise about it.

I have been working at Partners HealthCare full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Cell phone discounts, health insurance is decent but only if you're full-time (part time employees are charged way more, and most of their check goes to coverage)

    Cons

Low wages at North Shore Medical Center, and 2% raise each year if you're lucky. Loyalty & seniority are not rewarded nor respected. I've seen many co-workers who had been employed there for decades and in good standing get tossed aside, and replaced by lower paid substitutes by reducing their hours drastically and then taking new and cheaper hires. Nurses were on strike recently, and employees at Union Hospital are furious from their site being closed down. It's seriously a mess there now, and has been for awhile but it used to be a great place to work.

    Advice to Management

Promote from within more often. Change attendance policy so that sick days with medical notes are excused instead of no exceptions whatsoever. Employees in hospitals pick up lots of germs from patients, but are penalized when they get sick themselves. Workers are forced to lie about their illnesses because they won't let you work if you have the flu (even after getting the flu shot before to prevent it) so they come in and spread it to their co-workers and patients. This is sad and disturbing in a healthcare setting.
