I worked at Party City part-time (Less than a year)

Pros

Halloween is fun, and so is working with costumes. Most people are pretty nice.

Cons

They did NOT tell us temps we would have to wear a mascot costume and stand outside. The rain soaked into it, and it was sweaty and disgusting. They forgot about me after hiring, and I had to call after 1 week to remind them I needed hours- I got almost none. The costume system is confusing and stressful. You are expected to remember the number (and everyone is telling you) and you have to then remember who needed what costume. Keep in mind, its a mob of people.

Advice to Management

GET A NEW WAY TO DO COSTUMES. Making employees call in five numbers and then make them go grab them when they come and remember WHO wanted it is impossible. It was often a giant mob, and everyone was shouting a number at you. Also, give your temps hours. (And your pay system was awful. I had to pay monthly to GET PAID)

I have been working at Party City full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Networking is good, and once you get into management you get more freedom

    Cons

Once you get into management, you are used and abused. If you decide to go on ONE project, they will hound you to go on more...

    Advice to Management

Utilize your PT Associates. They are there to help... not sit and look pretty.
