I worked at Paychex full-time (More than a year)

Pros

getting to know the wonderful people on your client base
getting a free two-week trip to New York

Cons

management is cut-throat
your workload is incomprehensible
if your not on anti-anxiety meds now, you will be in about 6 months
no overtime allowed, yet there is never enough time in your shift to do it all
basically you're an accountant without the title and the pay

Advice to Management

start caring again about the people who work for you...and you all wonder why morale is low.

I worked at Paychex full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Great training
    Very simple sales objective
Annual goals, broken down into monthly goals.
Great management with management to skills vs numbers.
Goals are created monthly based on buying cycles.
Clients really need the products they are offering. It is a service businesses really benefit from and the local support is amazing.
    Great employee management/managers.
Easy to attain and over achieve if you do you daily tasks.

    Cons

Processes sometimes create problems for clients on boarding.
DIfficult to get ahead once you get behind.
This job is a very strategic sale and is an emotional sale/fear of the unknown.
Travel for training and offsite events expected to happen off business hours. (In addition to your normal work week.)
3rd tier training they require you double bunk with someone from your 2nd tier training class.

    Advice to Management

Change the training location to a central location in the United States for West coast employee's. It cuts into personal family time, especially when you require a weekend stay and travel on the weekends. Managers are great managers and Paychex really know's how to hire good managers and trains them very very well. I really appreciated all the mangers and felt like a valued employee. Do not request that we find a partner to double bunk with for the 3rd tier training course. Make it option, it was uncomfortable and my schedule and routine was different and SNORING was an issue.
