Pros

Pearson was a great place to work. Large company with room to grow. Very well compensated for the work I was doing.

Cons

Unfortunately, after a company merger and poor economic times, Pearson closed our office. Laying off 160+ of us.

Advice to Management

Thank you for the regular meetings to discuss performance and advancement opportunities.

    Pros

The overall attitude of Pearson and its employees is fairly easy-going and promotes a sense of friendliness. The benefits package is solid. Management is generally understanding and willing to work with employees regarding both professional needs and allowing for personal needs when necessary.

    Cons

There is a lack of upward mobility. This seems to be across the board. A steady stream of changes have kept the business from being able to move forward on a lot of internal projects. Many groups are left without any sense of real structure for years at a time. Its expected that everyone be satisfied with maintaining the status quo amongs the non-management employees.

    Advice to Management

You have a lot of smart employees with a solid understanding of their part of the business. It would benefit the company to take better advantage of that.

    Cons

There is no fitness center or child care center in the work place

    Advice to Management

I would recommend common platform and try to get all pearson companies to work together.
