Approves of CEO

Pros

Flexible workplace, availability of interesting projects, exposure to senior management, decent benefits, clear company vision, plenty of opportunities to transfer jobs internally.

Cons

Very political environment, limited opportunities for career advancement unless you leave the company or transfer jobs internally, salary is below market for the majority of technology positions.

Advice to Management

Encourage managers to work with employees on career goals regularly instead of yearly. This will improve employee morale and retention.

    Approves of CEO

    Pros

    - great work/life balance
    - able to work from home
    - some professional growth opportunities
    - great benefits

    Cons

    - not a very enthusiastic environment/culture
    - leadership not connected or knowledgeable of products across the company.
    - constantly "re-inventing" the wheel every time there is a re-organization
    - at least one major re-org a year

    Advice to Management

I would suggest that the leadership teams across Pearson should interact with each other to take an inventory of the resources that exist and/or available so that the company can strive towards being efficient.

    No opinion of CEO

    Pros

Broad experiences and business groups pleasure to work with.

    Cons

New leadership in back-office organization do not appreciate the people who have worked their for many years. They want yes people.

    Advice to Management

Not everything has to change to be better. Need to listen to everyone, not just the "yes" people.
