I worked at Pearson full-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

Good Company, growing, the big-gun in Education

Cons

Perhaps has grown too fast, too focused on $$$ in a field where there is none, perhaps be more socially conscious

    Pros

There is an excellent work-life balance; overtime is hardly ever necessary. Every day is very busy but there is never any stressful pressure. Everyone is very supportive.

    Cons

As with any corporation, there is a lot of bureaucracy - everyone is generally very friendly and approachable but responsibilities are clearly divided and there are relatively narrowly-defined career tracks. Sales is heavily emphasized.

    Pros

Some nice people, ability to actually work on some real projects.

    Cons

    Terrible pay. I mean terrible.

    Advice to Management

Understand that people need to make a living wage and you've got smart, talented people in lower level positions that really do want to work, want to make a difference. Don't just have them make copies and file things.
