Pros

Great benefits, a wonderful sales leadership team, highly respectful of customers and employees and a strong emphasis on learning both internally and externally.

Cons

it's a large company with a lot of levels of management- sometimes things are slow to change or many approvals are needed to move forward.

Advice to Management

Sometimes the expectations are set very high and territories in sales vary greatly. Please look at these inequalities when evaluating changes, promotions, and bonuses.

I worked at Pearson full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Working to build quality educational tools is challenging and extremely satisfying.

    Cons

This is now a seriously messed up company. Upper management is out of touch with customers and employees. Many experienced employees who were able to navigate beautifully on their own and guide others have been let go. New employees contribute, but lack the experience to see work through and bring it to full dimension.

    Advice to Management

Get a clue. Get involved. Get out of your place of comfort and dictation and get into the trenches. Value creativity. Allow your most creative employees to innovate. Listen to employees working at all levels of the business regularly. Look very closely at how employees and workflows integrate with new ideas and technologies as this is what allows building a competitive edge for quality products.
