I worked at Pearson full-time

Pros

Nice people. Good benefits. Excellent resources.

Cons

Management is Impatient when budget pressure is applied from above. Somewhat deaf to realities on the ground. Although better than some, a definite desire to hear only "good things."

    Approves of CEO

I have been working at Pearson full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Flexible hours and work from home; good for working parents; opportunities in many different specialties; fun, dedicated co-workers; a lot of women in leadership roles; many teams take advantage of summer hours programs where summer Fridays end at 1 pm.

    Cons

Promotions and raises are difficult to come by; hard work isn't always rewarded; feels like a "corporation" in a lot of ways because positive changes are slow to occur and negative ones happen in the blink of an eye; there's a work-all-the-time culture

    Advice to Management

Sometimes it feels as if hardworking people are taken for granted. Promotions and raises need to be easier to obtain.

    No opinion of CEO

I have been working at Pearson full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Supportive and friendly colleagues and immediate management; flexible work arrangements; challenging project assignments

    Cons

Experiencing major upheavals in company organization; insufficient resourcing to meet project demands; limited opportunities for promotions/raises/bonuses

    Advice to Management

Be more transparent on policies impacting employees; provide adequate resources for projects to reduce the continuous need for 10-12 hour days in order to meet schedule demands
