Current Employee - Anonymous Employee in Bloomington, MN

    Pros

Benefits are good, business is growing in spite of the economy, Marjorie Scardino is a globally focused leader with a clear vision of the future.

    Cons

Weak or poorly chosen business unit management, limited vision on how to be a global company, unable to communicate their vision or get employees excited about how they can support the business. Too much is hidden from employees for "fear" that competitors will try to copy their strategy.

    Advice to Management

I suggest that there be regular, informative communication, cascading goals (if you can actually articulate them) down to employees so that they can contribute to the success of the business. Don't let the marketing department control the strategy - your competitive advantage is in your people! That can't be duplicated by your competitors.
