Pros

Great flexibility, offers work from home. Overall good environment to work.

Cons

The opportunities are limited for employee to grow, promotions are given based on appearances under the worthless buzz word 'potential'.

Advice to Management

Too many random organization changes are confusing to employees. Senior management horribly lacks the depth of understanding the core business process and identifying employee's potential for putting right people in place. Poorly designed execution strategy when it comes to leading organization to a specific direction. i.e. they don't understand the problem (or ignore it) until they fall on the nose.

    Pros

pearson's benefits are good and they are good at acknowledging their employees and providing a very pro family work environment.

    Cons

the company is huge and one tends to get lost in the shuffle

    Advice to Management

communication is not good between the different departments and the company would likely benefit from sharing ideas between the different divisions.

    Pros

Great opportunity to see from the inside the decline and fall of college textbook publishing. Coworkers are great and supportive.

    Cons

Salary is awful, especially compared to the amount of profit the education division makes. Our customers are instructors and students, not bookstores or the sales reps! And for the love of God, get rid of the new edition every three years whether you need it or not model - that above all is ruining the industry.

    Advice to Management

Raise salaries and provide promotional opportunities. Employees don't feel their ideas are valued, nor that they can affect any change.
