Current Employee - IT Department in Johnson City, TX
Doesn't Recommend
Disapproves of CEO

Pros

The employees are some of the most giving, wonderful people.

Cons

Management displays inability to make competant decisions and be accountable for their actions. Deliver solid, written requirements to the staff. Board of Directors seem more interested in making Managers squirm under pressure instead of getting true business done.

Advice to Management

Ask for details from the Board. You jump too high without asking if you even needed to jump. Create a proper PMO to find actual cost savings.

    4. Stable Company
    5. If you have a good supervisor, it can be very pleasant
    6. It's very difficult to get fired

    Cons

    1. Constant change coupled with sub par communication to accompany it
    2. Poor development plan for employees
    3. Hardly any opportunities for advancement
    4. If you have a poor supervisor, it will be a drudgery
    5. It's very difficult to get fired

    Advice to Management

You do a great job of hiring excellent employees. However, in order to keep them motivated, there must be room for individual development and opportunities to advance. Please consider instituting goal based evaluations focused on quantifiable measurements. Please make sure the important changes, especially procedural, are clearly communicated to all employees and proper training is offered (this has been improving). Morale has been an issue for a while now. That, in particular, needs to be addressed.
