I have been working at Pella full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Hard work doesn't go unrewarded. Can work yourself into management from the factory floor. Pay and benefits for manufacturing positions very good.

    Cons

Long hours. Non-climate controlled environment. Very hot in the summer. Tendency to hire inexperienced, fresh-from-college Department Managers. Doing so makes changing things for the better difficult because no one is in one place long enough to understand what they're "fixing".

    Advice to Management

Listen to the operators if you want their respect. Proving you're the boss will get you nowhere because they know if you're unable to produce 'the numbers", you'll be gone. Not them. If you don't have their respect, you won't get "the numbers".
