I worked at Penn Tank Lines full-time (More than a year)

Pros

Insurance is fairly good although premiums are higher than average

Cons

No clearly defined job expectations or direction. Does not promote from within. No communication between management and employees about ways to improve operations. Your work is your life - in operations you are expected to be on call and available 24hrs a day all 5 days of your work week. Being on-call on a rotating basis means your 2 days off a week you are not on call.

Advice to Management

Be honest with your employees up front. Think about what is a reasonable work schedule and what is unreasonable. If you still expect employees to live their job - pay them for it. Company as a whole needs to move into the 21st century.

I worked at Penn Tank Lines full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great Co workers, very friendly, just show up and go to work. Your paycheck will be there waiting for you period.

    Cons

Management doesn't want equipment damaged at all. They will fire you. Other than that management is very fair with making sure you are a satisfied company worker.

    Advice to Management

    Give drivers a second chance.
