I have been working at Penske Truck Leasing full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Comfortable, clean, modern-ish offices. Co-workers are generally nice, well educated, and professional.

    Cons

VERY top heavy. VERY poorly organized. VERY slow moving organization. Lots of VP's at Penske, but very few with any actual power to implement change. Essentially, management is riddled with people who are leaders in title only. Even seemingly small organizational changes must be approved by an SVP, and it takes a long time. Also, upper management lacks significant diversity. Almost all management is primarily middle aged, white men. Culturally, they talk a lot about "taking risks". However, people are either not empowered to take strategic risks, or are only interested in maintaining the safety of the status quo. Not a culture of innovation by any stretch of the imagination. Penske has a recognizable name, but beyond that their is not much that is distinctive, or memorable about what they offer their employees. Benefits are very average, and pay tends to be below what a similar role would pay elsewhere.

    Advice to Management

Management structure needs to be thinned out, and diversity added. Significant efforts need to be made to become more progressive, and less rooted in yesterday's processes, and ideologies.
