I have been working at PepsiCo full-time (More than a year)

Pros

Great pay, Fair treatment, and lots of opportunity. They provide a friendly, fun environment to do your job and reasonable, attainable goals to shoot for

Cons

Long hours
Constant structural changes
New policies and bureaucratic changes can hinder employees ability to do their jobs and makes them nervouse

Advice to Management

If it works, don't fix it. The constant structural changes leave frontline and management confused. Less red tape and more focus in the future may help to achieve goals on a consistent basis

I have been working at PepsiCo full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    Great Brands & Legendary Legacy

Very resource rich & data intensive

Good HQ locations (Chicago, New York, Dallas)

Progressive in some areas such as sustainability

    Cons

Highly political, promotion happen from managers playing favorites vs promoting competence

Constant reorganizations and layoffs, which spreads remaining employees too thin while workload demands stay the same

Unachievable and unrealistic demands from Management; very public floggings of the little people that fail to measure up. This has resulted in a mass exodus of very seasoned and talented employees over the last 3-4 years, particularly women in senior roles.

Benefits such as profit sharing, 401K match, health care benefits, etc. continue to be stripped from the work force.

Too much focus on Finance instead of Marketing

    Advice to Management

The current culture is where the "yes" men get ahead at the expense of employees who actually know what they are doing will continue to erode these businesses that are quickly losing relevance to consumers.

The old Pepsi/Frito marketing formulas for success don't work anymore in the marketplace. Listen to the people who have good ideas that may differ from Mgt's point of view instead of forcing them out.
