Pros

Great benefits in this company and in a safe industry. 401k, pension, stock options, and health benefits. The only issue I have experienced is the long hours, and sometimes lack of leadership coming from the top management.

Cons

You put in a lot of hours and promotions aren't always handled in the best manner.

Advice to Management

Be more consistent in how you promote people. Be willing to cut the dead weight.

    Pros

    - Work life balance: Frito give half-day Fridays during the summer and business travel for most jobs is relatively low.
    - Job stability: Frito is in a very stable industry and works hard to avoid lay-offs.
    - Dallas location: Dallas is a great place to work and live.

    Cons

    - Very political work environment: Politics often outweigh qualifications and job performance.
    - Lack of integrity: Information is often manipulated or "spun" to provide the most positive perception.
    - Arrogance and ignorance of those who have been at Frito their entire careers; Many at Frito think Frito is a world class organization but only because they have never worked at a world class organization like GE or P&G.
    - Little value put on experience from other companies

    Advice to Management

    - Reduce the influence of politics in Frito culture
    - Learn to value and respect outside experience
    - Walk the talk; Do what you say and say what you mean

    Pros

Insurance benefits from day one. The pay is high for this industry. Longevity of the company, pepsi will always be around. Job security, resistant to economic recession.

    Cons

Work load is too much, excessive overtime. Difficult to balance work and family life. Soda pop is heavy, back problems, knee problems.

    Advice to Management

Keep your employees happy to minimize turnover and costs of training new employees.
