Don't work here!!
Manufacturing ResourceFormer Employee, more than 1 yearTopeka, KSPros
The pay was good and there were a lot of off site events for management.
Cons
You are salary so you basically live at the job. Health benefits were not very good. No compensation for covering shifts on weekends when co-workers were off. Upper management was awful. Most of the newer management consisted of people right out of college with no prior work experience. The upper management was mostly the college kids that started right out of college and stayed with the company and ran things like crap and were not helpful at all to their employees. Turn over rate is awful in management and even higher on the production floor (likely due to their unexpierenced managers). Oh and they force you to move to different positions in extremely short amounts of time with little to no training and that contributes to it running like a turd!

Pros
PepsiCo has great benefits and decent perks. Mental health is taken seriously and they offer generous maternity leave for the ladies. Most work is easier and the pace of business moves very slowly which allows for a great work-life balance. They encourage looking at other jobs internally, which allows you to hire in doing a certain job and end up years later in a completely unrelated department.
Cons
Promotion is based on who you know and if you are in a certain demographic. If you do not play the game, you have no chance of moving up into a meaningful position. HR is hard to get in touch with and will only refer you to the company website for info. Pepsi is very disorganized on the fleet side of the house. They moved the fleet AP to Mexico and caused numerous problems financially. Most fleet managers are Boomers and don't like IT or new ways of doing things.
