I worked at Perkins Coie as an intern (Less than a year)

Pros

Great people, great support staff. Couldn't ask for a better work life balance. People work hard but are also caring.

Cons

The only downside is that there is some legal work that I am interested in that I may not be able to do because the company is still competing with some larger firms. But that's a small complaint.

Advice to Management

Keep the amazing support staff in all offices

I have been working at Perkins Coie full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Salary in line with competitors, always food

    Cons

Professional development is non-existent, extremely high turn over of staff, poor leadership, individuals in management positions who lack the skill set, experience and training to be managers. Don't count on exercising independent thought.

    Advice to Management

    Hire leaders not cheerleaders.

    Positive Outlook

I have been working at Perkins Coie full-time

    Pros

good benefits; stability; established company, and a stable environment with lots of support and lots of skilled people who are there to help

    Cons

Some aspects of management are not as progressive as one would expect. Decisions regarding staffing and compensation do not always reflect the market or people support

    Advice to Management

Continue to grow the business as you have and maintain the people-oriented approach but realize that people have choices and that what you develop is valuable to other firms
