I worked at PetSmart part-time (Less than a year)

Pros

They give you plenty of hours to work, pay is excellent if this is a first job.

Cons

Some of the managers can be pretty rude or snappy, but as long as you can get through with that and keep doing a good job or if they like you you'll be alright

Advice to Management

Treat others the way you'd like to be treated

I worked at PetSmart full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

As a dog groomer, the income potential can be very high. I averaged, 600-750/week in commissions. The benefits are outstanding medical, dental, vision, ESPP etc...

    Cons

Corporate burnout. The problems that go along with middle management. A business model that caters to the cheap, insatiable and complaining customer too often.

    Advice to Management

Keep it up in HQ. Middle management should be cut. The salon should get a receptionist.

I have been working at PetSmart part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

good compensation and health plans for you and your pet, bonus $$$ :)

    Cons

say bye to your personal life, especially if you are a new hire. no weekends, no holidays, no time off from october to january. the way the company is moving now i feel like i am a salesperson and not a manager. Promotions can take more than a year :(

    Advice to Management

Look for internal talent, some of us are being wasted just because we intimidate them by having more educational training, sad to say it but it is true
