I have been working at PetSmart part-time (More than 5 years)

Pros

I personally just generally hate working for a retail store but I won't let those feelings cause me to be biased. This company is not that bad to work for as far as retail goes. Pros would include: benefits aren't bad, you get to see and be around cute animals all day, good promotion chances.

Cons

I have worked in two different petsmarts. One in FL and on in OH. Management was horrible in both. They seem to treat you like you are bred to work for that company. They don't seem to care that you have an over full time college schedule or any other life. But all retail is probably similar. Raises are so small it is a wonder they even give raises.

Advice to Management

We are not cyborgs built to be petsmart employees 24/7 so stop treating us that way!

I have been working at PetSmart part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Seeing different animals, and getting to know a lot about them. It's a good experience if you're interested in animals.

    Cons

Managers do not get tasks done, and play the "blame game" on each other. Hard work is over looked. Coworkers of same title not doing as much work, but getting same pay. Favoritism with managers and associates.

    Advice to Management

Start to appreciate the workers who actually work, and go above and beyond for the store and company. Hire managers who will actually work and not rely on associates to do their work for them.
