I have been working at PetSmart full-time (More than 10 years)

Pros

The company, as an overall, is great. I have worked for them in various positions for over 12 years. They offer a variety of benefits to both part-time and full-time associates. They usually work well with various schedules. Solid company to work for.

Cons

Not enough hours for associates to actually do their tasks and take care of customers as needed. As the company says they care about the associate and customer service is a priority, as an associate, it is hard to feel that care when I have to put customer service on the back burner to finish my tasks.

Advice to Management

Let the corporate office know their "ideas" aren't always working. You can only drink so much Kool-Aid before it becomes to "sweet" to drink.

I have been working at PetSmart part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

working with animals, nice people, good coworkers, a great part time job for students and people who need experience

    Cons

low hours. no full time opportunities (despite what you may be told), hardly any raises, overworked and underpaid, they expect you to make sales even if its not really in your control, not adequate as a primary income.

    Advice to Management

Consider the people you are hiring and stop expecting superheros. people do the quality of work they are paid for.
