I worked at PetSmart full-time (Less than a year)

Pros

You get yo be around animals and people that are like you.

Cons

There can be some pressure, especially during rush hours. If you can work at a fast pace, you should be fine

I have been working at PetSmart part-time

    Pros

The company really seems to want to promote from within. From what I've seen so far, PetSmart works very hard to make every customer happy.

    Cons

They really need to improve their "hands-on-training" for new associates. There seems to be a lack of consistency with policies and procedures.

  2. "Great to work for if you have a true passion for animals"

    Pros

Best reasons to work here is because of the animals. You get to interact with a lot of different people and their pets, and generally most customers who shop there are very friendly and care very much for their pets.

    Cons

There are not enough employees there during the day at anytime, especially in the Pet Care department. You are left to care for the animals and take care of customers all alone, when at times you may be helping a customer set up a new fish tank, and it may take 30 minutes or more, while someone else is waiting to purchase crickets...

    Advice to Management

Push for more staff and hours..... Customers do not want to be left waiting if they only need to go in there for a couple of things. If you spread your staff too thin, they will leave and won't want to return to the company... and you may be losing out on a very valuable employee.
