I have been working at Petco part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

-Really rewarding work, if you're helping customers and caring for animals.
-Some of the co workers and managers are really lovely people who do their best to make work pleasant.
-Petco partners with animal rescue agencies and you can tell that Petco really cares about animals.
-There is opportunity to become a dog trainer, which is really cool.
    -Good employee discount.

    Cons

-There's this weird tension between all the employees and their general and district managers. Forget about asking for anything from the company including training, hours, or wage increase.
-The company shoves changes on its employees, regardless of how it will affect their lives and ability to work at %100.
-If you're new, you won't get trained until someone REALLY needs you in their department. Otherwise, you're stuck at register. For months. And months.
-It's minimum wage for p/t newbies. There isn't any kind of 90-day evaluation or anything. you just get what you get.

    Advice to Management

It would be nice if ya'll didn't use executive action to make major changes that negatively impact your employees ability to work.
