Negative Outlook
No opinion of CEO

I have been working at PharMerica full-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

Solid hours, good insurance coverage. Great co-workers for the most part.

Cons

Extreme lack of communication, poor work/life balance, very poor attendance policy. Lack of training and no follow through on most employees job performance as opposed to attendance policy and unreasonable clock-in/out policy. Too many people being given higher positions based on personal preference rather than ability and knowledge.

Advice to Management

We need consistent training, with everyone receiving the same training and everyone held accountable to due diligence for their job.

    Pros

Smaller company means you have exposure to high level Executives and an opportunity to work on some high profile projects.

    Cons

Compensation is a joke, very little room for salary advancement, company culture is non-existent.

    Advice to Management

    Time for a new CEO.

I worked at PharMerica full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Benefits are decent but below average for a company of this size. Majority of non-management employees are great people.

    Cons

Wages are below the median across all positions. Raises have been only 1% increase in 3 of last 4 years (0% other year). Company practices a wage limit stop (a.k.a. 'redline') in which your position can no longer receive a raise....ever. Upper management is extremely poor (I never met my VP/Director in 3 years after their appointment to the position). As they continue to lose beds every year, management's plan appears to be to lay off the higher paid/seniority employees in favor of lower paid and overworked persons left. Yearly bonus goals are not presented until half the year is past. Labor laws in my particular state are disregarded (e.g. mileage reimbursement only 0.375 cents/mile vs. IRS mandated 0.55 cents/mile). Recent announcement of loss of largest customer (Kindred leaving for OmniCare) despite Kindred being a major stockholder of PMC says a lot.

    Advice to Management

A degree in Economics from small schools like Northwest Missouri State and University of Missouri - Kansas City does not mean you know how to run a pharmacy, as evidenced by loss of beds year over year, a decrease in stock price, and a decrease in customer/employee satisfaction. Please continue to manage to the stockholder instead of the customer so that maybe the morons on the Board of Directors will eventually take note and replace you and your incompetent team.
