Advice to Management

Have more of a focus on consistency and make departments work together as a single unit, sharing the same information, so everyones on the same page.

I have been working at Phoenix Children's Hospital full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Everyone is passionate about helping sick or injured children. The nice new building is great if you actually work in that one.

    Cons

Overworked, underpaid, have had years without raises. There's no transparency and if you aren't in a position of power, you are pretty much just a workhorse. Technology is way behind, no EHR, everyone works in a silo and employee satisfaction is lower than average. Although the new building is pretty, it's not child-friendly. Honestly have never worked with more petty people in my life.

    Advice to Management

Give credit to the people doing the work instead of taking it for yourself. Listen to the ideas and opinions of your workforce. Be friendly, noticeable, engaging. Care about your employees and how the lack of resources and extremely low pay will not retain talent. Keep promises. Stop lying.

I worked at Phoenix Children's Hospital full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    Talented, caring providers and staff.

    Cons

Administration is all about the bottom line, every time.

    Advice to Management

Keep in mind that this is a business about caring for children. There is a way to listen to your staff and patients while keeping in mind "the bottom line".
