I worked at Pierce College part-time

    Pros

Fun place to work with great programs!

    Cons

Pierce College GREATLY lacks faculty and staff of color more so African American(s). The student population is definitely diverse but the faculty and staff is definitely not. Students have stated after attending classes close to a year, they were shocked yet happy to see a "black" professor.

    Advice to Management

Pierce College GREATLY lacks faculty and staff of color more so African American(s). The student population is definitely diverse but the faculty and staff is definitely not. Students have stated after attending classes close to a year, they were shocked yet happy to see a "black" professor. Cultural statements/questions are part of the job application yet both campuses greatly lack diversity amongst faculty & staff. The cultural climate is cold when it comes to that.
