Pros

I joined at a time when the company seemed quite dynamic and respected. But that changed over the past 3 years.

Cons

Lack of respect for the staff, widespread problems with morale and high staff turnover. Stress, fatigue and burn-out.

Advice to Management

Pioneer Global Investments must learn to value its staff. Also middle management need to be trained to respect their staff - a clue would be to have a look at those who loose staff regularly. These problems existed before the current Investment banking crisis.

I worked at Pioneer Investment Management full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Pioneer was a great place to work if you judge solely on company culture and work/life balance.

    Cons

The biggest drawback of working at Pioneer was the fact that pay for most roles was at least $10k less than industry averages for similar positions. Very hard to move around in the organization with regards to increased pay and or responsibilities. Low morale with many leaving the Company to pursue better opportunities elsewhere.

    Advice to Management

Think about your existing employees. Don't concentrate solely on the company's margins. You're going to be back in a place where you're having to increase your starting pay for new hires because so many of your existing employees have quit because you don't act like you care about them, and no one wants to work for the company.
