I have been working at Pivotal full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

If you want to pair program while working on infrastructure, this is the place. The pair programming means you learn a lot very quickly, on every front from architecture and code quality to shortcut keys in your text editor. I have grown more in my soft-skills (focus, explaining ideas clearly, giving feedback) in my 2 years here than in my time at three prior employers combined. Everyone is consistently kind and friendly....

    Cons

The salary is not great. The pay bands are narrow per-level, and there was not even a token negotiation on my offer. You will not make as much as you would at Google/Facebook/etc, but only somewhat less than large startups like Dropbox. Pros

Great culture valuing empathy, kindness, collaboration, as well as using cutting-edge technology/process. Really values employees, investing in personal development, education fund, + pair work environment which is great for employees to learn a lot. Able to rotate teams as well.

    Cons

Not much; perhaps the brand name Pivotal is not as well known.

    Pros

Cool company with great values. Everyone is really nice but that can prevent you from having open candidate conversations.

    Cons

    Pay could be more competitive.

    Advice to Management

Better articulate company strategy to employees and lower level management.
