I have been working at Pivotal full-time (More than a year)

Pros

Great place with brilliant people and great potential and a visionary CEO!! I have seen this place change from a small quiet office in San Mateo with quiet, hard working people to one with a vibrant start-up feel ! And I mean it in a great way ! I look forward to coming to work everyday ! Free breakfast every day, free lunch on Tuesdays and subsidized lunch on other days!! Stocked refrigerators and micro kitchens to boot !! What more count I ask for? :). Been here 2 years and my enthusiasm has not diminished in the least !

Cons

Can't think of any cons.

Advice to Management

You are doing a good job !! Scott Yara and Paul Maritz ROCK !!

I have been working at Pivotal full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Pivotal is about to establish a unique position in the market for Cloud and Big Data; There is great leadership and executive management in the US, products are great and resonate well in the market

    Cons

Working for Pivotal pretty much feels like working for EMC as they dominate the account work and opportunities and claim responsibility for Pivotal business; there is a lot of politics going on which constrains success; EMEA management is weak, tries to completely rely on EMC to drive business

    Advice to Management

Look into what's really happening in EMEA

    Pros

PaaS may get some traction...in two years. If you play the political game well your career will move along quickly.

    Cons

It's a shark tank with a fear-driven culture. And not above putting in bogus reviews on Glassdoor that chat up the company.

    Advice to Management

    Learn to embrace disagreement.
