Typical retail salary with three times as much work

    I have been working at Plato's Closet full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    If you work hard and show that you care about the store and the employees, there is opportunity for advancement.
    Shop all the latest styles and trends.

    Cons

    Rules and Policies constantly change.
    Owner and management make you jump through hoops to earn Employee Discounts and Bonus, and usually expectations are constantly changed and unattainable.
    Extremely hard work for little pay, no benefits.
    Extremely high turn over, employees often don't take job seriously bc policies and rules constantly change making it very confusing on what to do and not to do.
    Keyholders and Management do not receive proper training if any training at all.
    Promotions and Sales are confusing, unorganized and unprofessional.
    There is no organization what so ever from Senior Management and expectations are not clear.
    Store Owner steps on Managements toes by over micromanaging.
    Never receive positive feedback from owner or district manager.

    Advice to Management

    Hire managers with experience and utilize their experience and skills. Don't step on their toes.
    Organization is key. If owner cannot handle planning events and promotions assign someone who can.
    Give hard working employees a reason to stay, positive feedback, raises, benefits, discount.
    Set expectations and policies in stone, abide by them and enforce them.

    You get good deals on good finds!

    Cons

    The people who work at most PC's are shady and rude. They rip people off for their clothes.

    Advice to Management

    Awful. My manager had my lint-roll the floors OF THE ENTIRE STORE!!
