Positive Outlook

I have been working at Playdom as a contractor (Less than a year)

Pros

Playdom was acquired by Disney Interactive Media in 2010 and even if it sits under a giant's umbrella, I love the fact that it continues to have a start-up environment and a fast pace.
It is a flat organization where the distance from thinking to doing is very short.
Management is available and friendly.
The free breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks add to the fun of being here.
Very professional environment and friendly.

Cons

No Cons so far. Need more time with the company.

Advice to Management

Communicaton with the employees can be definitely improved!

    Neutral Outlook

I worked at Playdom as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Free food, Facebook games, etc..

    Cons

    Disorganized!
Little consideration whatsoever or respect for people.
Did not understand how to leverage people's skills.
Had no clue how to properly test games (I was one of the highest ranked players of two of their top games with no outside help, at the time I joined the company and I watched in amazement at how they attempted to test things. It was cute but sad).

    Advice to Management

Do ont make assumptions about people's ideal role in the company, solely based on their previous jobs or your team leads' biases and insecurities
Check in with your employees regularly
Allow employees to review managers and team leads!
Encourage everyone in the company to play games (seriously -- it works)
Remind team leads to check their egos at the door!!!

I worked at Playdom full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I worked under a good manager and some nice people.

    Cons

This company has invested in some of the worst technology that I have ever seen.

    Advice to Management

Stop investing in stupid tech. Hire intelligent people to develop better tech.
