Negative Outlook

I worked at PlumChoice full-time (More than a year)

Pros

Solid 40 hrs per week, decent training

Cons

IT Agency Work - $14 to start - they will tell you it's a 4 month contract to hire situation - This is a TOTAL LIE! The company is in the middle of a hiring freeze and off-shoring their techs to Costa Rica so it is a TEMP to TEMP position - a complete dead end! No benefits, no pay raises, no vacation or PTO.

The supervisors are mediocre at BEST! The supervisors are constantly on your case to increase your appointments per time clock hour at any cost. That means take more calls even though you're not done taking care of the other customers you're already working with. Many angry customers call back but the tech supervisors REFUSE to take any calls!

The company doesn't do anything proactively. They are a put out the fires type of operation. The company will let you know they are going to roll-out a new system but give very little training on the system. Fly by the seat of your pants. When they moved to a Citrix environment, productivity dropped 30-40% overnight - and the reason- so they can have more control, not to improve the customer experience.

If you like removing root kits from 10 year old XP machines with 512mb RAM this is the job for you! Like asking 75 year old ladies to crawl behind their desk to reset their cable modem - this is it! Want to move up from a Tech Support Level I to a Level II, you will do so with no increase in pay whatsoever!

Advice to Management

Don't LIE about the nature of the contract - it is TEMP to TEMP!
Require tech supervisors to take irrate customer calls instead of transferring after hours calls to the "Customer Care" voicemail system.
