I worked at Polycom full-time (Less than a year)

Pros

-Interesting technology
-Bright tech minds--if you can get access in disconnected culture
-Competitive compensation
-Virtual workplace; independence and autonomy
-Attempting to change strategy and shift from hardware provider to cloud-based software model
-Relative transparency in communication
-Use of company's own technology in the workplace

Cons

-Complete lack of culture and/or teamwork
-Disconnected and elitist management (Traveling the world via planes, trains and automobiles while middle and senior managers utilize video conference and never meet in person)
-Complete neglect of opportunity to create a dynamic, virtual culture and people around the world working for one mission
-"One trick pony" strategy and management
-Small, niche player against Cisco's ITP 500lb gorilla--doesn't feel sustainable
-Quarterly mentality and sweeping cuts of staff, funding and ideas each quarter
