Positive Outlook

I have been working at Pottery Barn part-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

The discount. Friendly and welcoming staff/management. The management is understanding and works together to meet their and your needs. Corporate comes to visit the store monthly which shows you that the higher up corporate officials care about those working inside the stores.

Cons

The only con I can truly think of is some of the customers that you will have to deal with. They can cause you great frustration, and all you can do is take a deep breathe and smile.

Advice to Management

Management is doing a great job. I feel like they care about every single store and it is shown by them coming to check up on the stores. The in-store management is amazing and are approachable, friendly, and understanding.

I worked at Pottery Barn as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

Valuable experience at a reputable, big company
    Networking with colleagues
Once in the system, can work in other departments/brands
Many of the people are *very* nice, good people (just overworked, see below...)

    Cons

Very stressful work environment with tight deadlines
    A lot of employee burnout
Stressful! (did I already mention that?)
Some prima donnas and divas personalities which can be draining and a bummer to be around
Work gets wasted because projects change at last minute.

    Advice to Management

Your employees are overworked--it's effecting their health. Lighten their work load, hire more people.

I have been working at Pottery Barn full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The people I work are amazing.

    Cons

Expectation is not realalistic. In order to get more payroll we need to make more money. Working with mult customers cutting payroll. Train your associates but you don't have enough payroll to support.

    Advice to Management

    Let's get back to basic's.
