I have been working at Power Home Remodeling as a contractor (More than 3 years)

Pros

There is a sense that each employee is a member of a big family, there is excellent support for sales, the products and warranties are second-to-none, and if you follow the recipe for the success that they clearly lay out for you, you will do very well.

Cons

This isn't a con for me but some people get worn out by it: Some positions require odd, unpredictable, evening or weekend hours.

Advice to Management

Keep doing what you're doing

    Pros

Young employees, college atmosphere, good if there is absolutely no other options

    Cons

Long hours, low pay, door to door sales, little training, mindless job, management preys upon unemployed grads

    Advice to Management

Hire a few good salesmen instead of a mass hire of worthless field marketers

I worked at Power Home Remodeling full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Apparently there is a 4 day all-expense paid trip to Mexico every year. Other than that, they seem pretty easygoing about stuff.

    Cons

They flat out lied about numerous things...

    1. they promised full medical, and then on the first day give you a booklet of packages for you to pick what you want to pay for.

    2. they claim there are different positions. For example, I was hired as a management trainee. But in reality, they are all the same thing.

    3. they describe the job as either marketing or sales. Sales is going into people's homes on nights and weekends to try to get them to buy products....walking door-to-door and standing at a kiosk in a store is what they consider "marketing"

    4. I was also lied to about how the commission structure worked.

They hire about 10 new people every week because so many people realize after the fact that they were mislead about a great career opportunity.

    Advice to Management

Stop preying on recent graduates and focus your attention on employees who are okay with a door-to-door job.
