Pros

CMMI Level 4 company with strong work ethics and creative compensation plans. Attracts good leadership

Cons

Family run business, that is run like a family run business. Truly a "shop house" run operation with weak financial controls and arbitrary management framework. Very "cheap" when it comes to investment in growth or business development. Company pays for virtually nothing. Expense reports are combative. Very poor management communication. Company owners are "clock watchers" and value time in the office more than performance. Impatient for results in growth, likely to remain a small business and unlikely to make the leap to a full corporation competing in the bigger federal market. Current task order response business model cannot sustain growth objectives.

Advice to Management

Put into place a real financial management system and professional to run the company.

I worked at Pragmatics full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

There is not much pressure on you, hence this is a great place if you want to settle down for life.
Too many different things to explore.
Core computer science work will good on resume.

    Cons

Work culture is not great, the average age of the company is pretty high.
Most of the amazing research things happen in Palo Alto office, hardly anything great in Indian offices

    Advice to Management

You are so much focused on portraying VMware as an amazing place to work in all the magazines and all, for all the external attractions like green building and etc (which is good); but you are failing to address basic daily needs of the employees - gaming rooms are reduced or shut down, pantry is getting smaller, useless renovations
